In The Cardiac Direction
“In the Cardiac Direction” is an individualized exercise program for the prevention of heart disease. This is a flexible program in the proper mode, intensity, duration, frequency, and progression to ensure each participant’s cardiovascular fitness without exceeding the safe limits of exercise.
Education in the form off handouts and verbal presentations will be offered weekly and will include an understanding of the “heart health”, diet, behavioral changes related to modification of positive risk factors, and signs and symptoms of exercise intolerance.
Initial evaluation is done by a nurse and includes:
1. Health history- including any current medications and allergies.
2. Cardiac monitoring, blood pressure & oxygen saturation monitoring.
3. Exercise blood pressures
4. Risk Factors Analysis
5. Discussion of Positive Risk Factors and behavior modification.
6. Presentation of proper phase of exercise.
7. Target Heart Rate determination.
8. Individualized exercise program.
9. Follow up with registered dietician.
10. A nurse will be available for one-on-one consultation and phone consultations in areas related to the exercise program.

Lorrie Williams comes to us with great expertise in the cardiovascular specialty area. Lorrie has her current CPR and ACLS certifications. She has worked and still works within a comprehensive health team off cardiologists, nurses, dieticians, pharmacists, PT’s and fitness trainers.
