What is A-Game?

Sports performance enhancement program which focuses on improving
the athletes’ SPEED, AGILITY, QUICKNESS, and POWER.
What is the Program?
- Highly specific training sessions
- Educating players in proper jumping,
landing, and cutting mechanics (form) and techniques.
- Emphasis on QUALITY not quantity
- Consists of:

dynamic flexibility program/ warm up
-
form drills to improve linear (front-back) and lateral
(side-side) speed
-
agility drills
-
plyometric exercise progression
-
core stabilization (abdominals, low back)
-
strength training
-
static stretching/partner stretching
- Coordination, Balance, and Strength
Training for the lower extremities to prepare the athlete to
react immediately and more naturally/instinctively.
- Twice a week for 12 weeks; progression of
4 phases with 3 weeks per phase

Goals of the Program

Improve faulty running and cutting technique—reduce 40 yd
times as much as 5/10 of a second!!!

Increase flexibility
-
Increase strength and power; up to 10% increase in
vertical
jump—as much as 11 inches!!

Reduce and prevent injury

Improve agility

Enhance athlete’s athletic performance
