What is A-Game?

à A Sports performance enhancement program which focuses on improving the athletes’ SPEED, AGILITY, QUICKNESS, and POWER.

What is the Program?

  • Highly specific training sessions
  • Educating players in proper jumping, landing, and cutting mechanics (form) and techniques.
  • Emphasis on QUALITY not quantity
     
  • Consists of:
    -         dynamic flexibility program/ warm up
    -         form drills to improve linear (front-back) and lateral (side-side) speed
    -         agility drills
    -         plyometric exercise progression
    -         core stabilization (abdominals, low back)
    -         strength training
    -         static stretching/partner stretching
     
  • Coordination, Balance, and Strength Training for the lower extremities to prepare the athlete to react immediately and more naturally/instinctively.
     
  • Twice a week for 12 weeks; progression of 4 phases with 3 weeks per phase
  • Goals of the Program

    -         Improve faulty running and cutting technique—reduce 40 yd times as much as 5/10 of a second!!!
    -         Increase flexibility
    -         Increase strength and power; up to 10% increase in vertical
    jump—as much as 11 inches!!
    -         Reduce and prevent injury
    -         Improve agility
    -         Enhance athlete’s athletic performance
